Puppy Love

"Papa.. Doggy!!"

Papa opened one eye and looked at me with amazement. Then he looked at his mobile to check the time and said - "Keshav... it is 6 am. All the dogs are sleeping. You also go to sleep."

"Papa.. Doggy!!"

"Ok baba.. come to me. See.. there are no doggies right now. All the doggies are sleeping with their Mummy. You also sleep."

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

--------------------

The only thing which surpasses my love for doggies is probably my love for my Mummy. The interesting angle to this being that my Mummy hates doggies - of any kind or size.

I don't know when my Mummy's dislike for doggies started. What I do know is how my love for doggies came about.

I was very small. Not able to walk, but really crawling about on the floor. I would often hear these sounds from outside - "Bow wow... Bow... Bow..." - and I would always wonder what this was. I tried asking Papa about it, but Papa being Papa, didn't even understand what I was asking. Mummy figured out what I wanted to know and told me that there were dogs outside. They were making this noise.

Then one day, when we were going out of the building, I heard the same noise. "Bow wow.. Bow.. Bow.."

I quickly looked out of the window and saw this four-legged thing chasing us and shouting - "Bow wow.. Bow.. Bow.."

I excitedly screamed and Papa said.. "Keshav.. look Doggy is barking."

Now I knew who was making these sounds. I was so happy. I looked around and saw 5-6 doggies. They were all jumping up and down and barking at the car. Soon we sped ahead and the doggies were out of sight.

Since that day, I would always tell someone to pick me up and take me to the window so that I could see the doggies. Sometimes they would be jumping around and barking, and sometimes they would be just lying in the shade of a car. Sometimes there would be 5-6 of them, in full strength. And sometimes I would just find the one-odd one lazing around.

Now, doggies are an inseparable part of my life. I wake up in the morning and first thing (after doing susu ofcourse) I want to see are the doggies. If they have gone to their Mummies to have milk, then I dont mind sitting down for milk either. But if they are still roaming around, I keep my watch till all of them have gone to have their milk. After all, I want my friends to be healthy and strong.

Even during the day, I often get up on the table next to the sofa and keep looking down at the doggies and watch their antics.

At night, before I go to bed, I make Papa or Mummy make me look out the window to make sure that the doggies have all gone to bed. I dont like it if they are out very late. Its not very safe as there may be some bad people who could harm them. So if I see any of them loitering around till late, I scold them and tell them - "Doggy.. Sleep.."

Sometimes, they will be out barking in the night and will wake me up. I then get up and tell them to go to sleep as it is middle of the night and everyone is sleeping.

You want to see my friends.. look...

Hello Keshav,

This is Richard uncle. Its fun reading your blog and seeing your interest in "doggy". My son Aiden (almost 2 yrs old) also likes Doggy but since we don't see many in Toronto during winters(doggies don't like walking in -10 degrees celcius), he runs to the window everytime he hears the train("Fo-Cheh" he goes) or he spots a plane("Fei-Kei").

I read only a few blogs and yours will be one of them.

Take care and give my regards to your Daddy.
