Why I don't like Swimming!!!

I started learning swimming in my complex. Now I know swimming very well. So I started training at The Club. I don't like swimming there. When Vedant B troubles me, I get a scolding from sir. He keeps troubling me.

Sir always makes me do lengths. He tells me to go early for class. If I look at somebody else he shouts at me. My mother forces me to go.

Yesterday, I had swimming class. Thank god I fell asleep on my bed. I didn't have to go for swimming!

I am so happy!

The snake hole

Last night I had a very strange dream.

I was going to Ved's house to play. He had warned me that there were many snakes around his house as there was a big snake hole right near the entrance. He had told me to be careful.

As soon as I reached his house, I saw a snake come out of the snake hole and slither towards me. I quickly rang the bell many times. Ved opened the door in a jiffy and sprayed the snake with something. The snake turned around and went back into the hole.

Ved and I quickly jumped inside the house and banged the door. There was a loud noise. A big snake,   who might have been sleeping and must have got disturbed, came out.

We got the broom and the dustpan out. We used the broom to get the snake into the dustpan. It just fit into the dustpan. Then we quickly took a stick and poked the snake with it. The snake died.

We were finally safe.

Picnic turns into a brawl

I have been wanting to go for a picnic with my friends for a while. I have mentioned this to Mummy a few times but then either I would forget about it or she wouldnt remember.

Yesterday, when I was on my way back from school, I remembered the picnic again. I quickly told my friends Ved, Rebant and Sanat about the idea. They all were very excited and agreed. We agreed when we would meet and where.

As soon as I reached home, I told Mom also, lest I forget.

In the evening, I got Mom to pack a few of the junk-food packs that Papa had got (kurkure, chips, cheese balls). I took 4 of them as there were to be 4 of us. Rebant and I were the first to reach. We waited for Ved who took his own sweet time to come. And finally Sanat arrived as well.

First we sat down in the B Wing lobby and opened up our tiffins. Just then some older girls came by and wanted to take our tiffins. We tried telling them to shoo off, but they wouldn't listen. So we got up, went across to the play-area and parked ourselves there. Immediately, a swarm of young kids started buzzing around us and disturbing us.

We soon got fed up, packed our stuff and decided to go to the garden on top of the gym. We sat on one of the dry patches and finished our picnic food. It was a lot of fun. However, our joy was shortlived as a security guard came along and told us that kids were not allowed here. Ved tried to shoo him off, but the security guard would have none of it. I decided to go down the stairs and the others followed.

Having finished our food, we started playing pakda-pakdi in the play area. Soon Pranav (from our AVM van), Vedant and Sidhant also joined in. I didn't want them to join because again they will be mean to us and Rebant doesn't like it. However, everyone (including Rebant) said majority wins and got them into the game.

They immediately said that they wanted to play the racing game and not pakda-pakdi. Reluctantly I agreed and laid out the rules of the game. There were to be 3 zones - safe zone, danger zone and ultra danger zone. If someone lost in the ultra danger zone they would be out of the game for 1 week. I explained each of the rules very clearly and very carefully and they all kept saying ok, ok.

As we started playing, first Pranav started being mean to Rebant. And Rebant started crying. I went to him and said - "I told you so!!"

Then something else happened in the game. I reiterated the rule. However, they kept saying that I had never said such a rule. And then again they said majority wins. I got really upset, but I did not cry. I decided to stop playing with them and come back home. They wouldn't let me!!

And then Pranav started kicking me on my ankles. I jumped to avoid and make him miss. Then the others also joined in - Ved, Sanat, Vedant and Sidhant. Even Rebant started doing so. I got very very upset and came back up. I tried very hard to avoid it, but I did end up crying a little.

I am only glad that I lost the race (purposely) and now wont have to play this silly game for the next 1 week.

Cleanliness Monitors

Two days ago, Rama Miss (our class teacher) appointed four of us as the Cleanliness Monitors. Other than me, the four includes Bhavya, Sai Sampada and Jeet. We are different from the regular monitors. Our job is to ensure that the class is maintained in a neat and clean way. Miss has given us the authority to tell students to pick up any garbage that they throw on the ground and put it in the dust-bin. And if they don't listen, only if they don't, then we can go and complain to Miss.

It is a lot of hard work, though a lot of fun too.

Every morning Bhavya and I have to make sure that all the tables and chairs have been arranged properly. Jeet doesn't come early and if Sai Sampada is also late, then it becomes very tiring for both of us.

Then during the day, when the teacher is doing her work, we have to make sure that no one is throwing garbage on the floor like sharpening your pencil at your desk and dropping it on the floor. If we see someone doing so, we four gather around that person and keep telling that child to pick it up till he or she gets fed up and picks it up :)

Like today, Purav was sharpening his pencil at his desk. All four of us stood around him and kept telling him - "Pick it up. Pick it up. Pick it up. Pick it up..." He finally got so fed up that he picked it up and threw it in the dustbin.

Suhani also got scolded by Rama Miss today. She was holding her sharpener in her hand and telling us - "Should I sharpen?"

Bhavya snatched her sharpener and told Rama Miss that Suhani was saying - "Should I sharpen?"

Then Rama Miss scolded her. He he...

Office-Office

Today we had a serious problem in our office. Ved sent an email to all the girls in the office, saying - "I Love You". But since the email goes to every person in the office, this mail went to everyone also. And then no one knew who the email was meant for.

By the way, the girls in our office include Aarushi, Suhani, Aadya, Ira and Tria. The boys in the office are me (Keshav), Ved, Sanat, Advait, Aryan Prakash, Aryan Midha, and others.

So then Ved had to come in to the office and explain who the email was and he explained it was for all the girls.

But, because of this bad behaviour, we had to throw him out of the office.

PS: for all of you who are thinking how did this happen, Aarushi and I were playing office-office while waiting for the train at Engelberg to go back to Lucerne.

Snow at Mt. Titlis

While in Lucerne, today we went to Mt. Titlis. I went there with my parents, my friend Aarushi and her parents too.

First we went on a train to Engelberg. From there, we took 3 cable cars to reach Mt. Titlis. One of the cable cars was rotating as it went up. It was quite a unique experience. My father and I were standing in front of each other. But soon, he started moving in the opposite direction from me.

I was having a bad stomach ache since morning. I was in a lot of pain even as we went up the cable cars. My mother gave me medicines to reduce my pain.

Once we reached up to Mt. Titlis, we went out to the glacier to enjoy the snow. It was very windy out there on the glacier. All the while it was snowing as well. It was so cold and freezing that I could not bear it and started crying. My friend was also feeling as cold and was also crying. Both the mothers were also feeling very cold. The fathers took us to a bit of a corner to protect us from the wind so that we could enjoy the snow, but it was pretty windy there too. We tried playing a bit with the ice but soon gave up and went back inside.

Since it was pretty late already and we hadn't had any lunch, we went down to the restaurant and had some pasta, fries and soup for lunch. We also bumped into our building friends - Sahil and his parents. They had come in early and had also managed to do some of the snow activities.

By this time the wind had died down a bit. So we gathered our courage and went out to the glacier again. The different activities were shut down by now due to the bad weather. We went a bit further into the snow and threw some snow balls at each other. Then we clambered up a small  wall of snow and went up to a higher level. The mothers didn't come as they were quite scared of slipping down.

Once up, we again played a bit with snow balls and threw them at each other. Once the wind started picking up again, we decided to go down. However, we were not sure of how to do so. We saw some people sliding down the snow to the below level, using their bums as tubes. So Papa and I decided to do the same and came sliding down one after the other. Aarushi and her Papa did the same.

My Papa and I went up once again midway up the higher platform. Since it was getting late, we turned around there and slid back down. There was snow all over me and into my clothes. We quickly went inside where our (Aarushi and mine) mothers changed us into dry clothes. By then they had announced that they were shutting down the cable cars soon (as it was very windy and hence not safe to run them).

So we quickly went down to the cable car place. There was a big queue and we had to wait for a while for getting our turn to board the rotating cable car. Even at the next level, we had to wait a long time for our turn for the second cable car.

In this way we finally reached Engelberg once again. There were very strong winds blowing and we were almost flying in that wind. We found an Indian shop and quickly had some tea, vada-pav and samosas before boarding the bus to the station. At the station again we had a long wait for our train to Lucerne. Aarushi and I used that time to play office-office. But more of that later. We finally got back to Lucerne, tired, but happy at having been out in snow, in a snow fall and having played in snow.

We got some very nice pictures of us as well which will serve as a memory for years to come.

First sleepover

Yesterday Aarushi and I had our first sleepover. This was in our hotel in Lucerne - Hotel Cascada. Each room had an extra bed and that made it possible for us to do the sleepover.

So for the first sleepover, I went to sleep in Aarushi's room. Mahesh uncle slept on the extra bed while Aarushi, Ramya Aunty and I slept on the main bed.

Before going to sleep, we chatted for a bit. Here is how it went.

A - "Do you know I have two Coos?"

K - "Yes, but then why have you not got both of them?"

A - "I am not allowed to!!"

K - "So you are not allowed to bring both of them?"

A - "No!!"

K - "Oh, ok. So you are not allowed to bring both the Coos."

A - "Why do you keep repeating everything twice?"

K - "I like to. I repeat everything in my head. I repeat it loud only when my Mummy-Papa are around as I like to irritate them."

A - "When we go to Mumbai will you come to my house for a sleepover?"

K - "No."

A - "Why? Too boring?"

K - "No. Its too far. I will get tired by the time I get there."

Playing with the Lion

Last night I had a strange dream.

There was a boy in my dream. I am not sure if that boy was me or someone else. That boy wanted to play something but he did not have anyone to play with.

So the boy went into the forest. There he met a lion who was his friend from before. The lion and the boy then began to play and the boy was happy.

Break time masti

Today Ved and I did not have out small tiffin in the small break. Instead, we went around the class collecting bits of everyone's small tiffin and got it all to Ved's desk. There, we opened Ved's tiffin and loaded all the other food items into his tiffin. There were chakli, almonds, cheese, bread-chutney, paratha, etc.

At that time the tiffin looked very tasty and inviting. We shut it thinking we were going to enjoy it during out van ride home. However, when we opened the tiffin in the van, the food inside had become all soggy and did not taste nice. Hence we did not have any of it.

In the process, I did not even open my small tiffin full of mango pieces. Since I didn't want to tell this to Mummy-Papa, I first told them that the mango pieces were very sour and hence I didn't have them. Mummy was very upset with me for this.

When Papa said - "NO mangoes for Keshav for the next 2-3 days", my heart sank. However, I had to keep my mouth shut or else Papa would have discovered the truth. However, Papa then asked how I figured the mangoes were sour? Did I try even one piece? To which I promptly replied that I licked one of the pieces and it was sour.

By then Mummy had caught on. She realised that the tiffin was too difficult for me to shut on my own and that it normally came back open. That's when Papa cornered me and made me admit that I had not even opened my tiffin.

Papa wasn't happy about my lying and made me write 5 times - "I will not lie".
