Keshav tells about Durga Puja
Do you know that this week is Durga Puja? It is a big festival in Calcutta, the city where my Papa grew up.
Durga Ma killed Mahishasur. Mahishasur was a very bad man who used to trouble people. He used to beat them and trouble them. Do the people then prayed to Durga Ma. Durga Ma came and killed Mahishasur. She killed him with a trishul. She came sitting on a Lion.
Everyone gets very upset with me if I hit or beat up anyone. But I dont think we should get upset with Durga Ma as she beat up Mahishasur who was a very bad man.
I am not afraid of Durga Ma's Lion. The Lion does like this - "Roarrrrr...."
PS: In case you dont believe that I know all this, Papa has recorded me saying all this.

I Love You Papa
Sometimes your own tricks can backfire on you. The key, however, is to recognize when that is happening and change direction as quickly as possible.
One of my favourite pastimes is to tease my Dad whenever possible. He is a jolly fellow and usually enjoys my teasing. But every once in a while, he also finds a way to pull my leg as well. One of the regular interactions goes like this -
Scene: Papa, Mummy and Me sitting around somewhere, making small talk
Papa - "I love you Keshav"
Keshav, turning around and looking at Mummy - "I love you Mummy."
Keshav, turning back towards Papa and showing his thumb - "Thilli Thilli Ha Ha Papa" (basically teasing him!).
Last evening, as Mummy and I were coming back home from my evening activity classes, Papa was also with us as he joined us from office.
Papa - "I love you Keshav"
Keshav - "I love you Mummy. Thilli Thilli Ha Ha Papa."
Papa - "OK. I wont give you the sandesh I got for you then."
Keshav, quickly turning around to Papa - "I Love You Papa!!! Now you will give me sandesh??"

Papa cant go for dinner
Most often, whenever Mummy and Papa are going out for dinner, they take me along. But once every now and then, they will want to go out for dinner on their own, leaving me behind at home. Sometimes I am happy to comply, but sometimes I kick up a big ruckus - leading to one of two results - either they take me with them or they just leave me behind howling (knowing too well that the howling will stop within a minute of them stepping out).
Last night, as I saw Mummy get ready to go out for dinner, I decided to try a different line.
Mummy was ready by the time Papa came home. As Papa lay down on the bed trying to catch his breath and recover from his long day, I got into action.
"Papa - you cannot go for dinner tonight."
"Why Keshav? Why can I not go for dinner tonight"
"Because Uncle will not let you go."
"Which Uncle will not let me go?"
"Hmmm... Police Uncle"
"And why is that?"
"Aap bahut badmaashi karte hain is liye (Because you are very naughty, thats why)."
Needless to say, I couldn't prevent them from going for dinner. But the look on Papa's face was well worth the effort ;)

Do you not know your name???
It sometimes amazes me that adults fail at completely basic things which they expect us kiddos to be well at ease with. And I am not talking about people who did not go to school, but people like say my Mom or Dad or Dadu who are all smart people, but still.
You must be wondering what is it that they did that makes me say such harsh things about them. You read it and tell me what else should I think.
A few days ago, as I was having my evening milk, I felt like playing with my Farm Puzzle. Mummy was sitting on the sofa nearby, and I asked her - "Mummy, I want my farm puzzle."
Papa was floating around nearby somewhere. He immediately reached out and tried to get the puzzle.
I imemdiately scolded him - "Aapka naam Mummy hai?? Is your name Mummy??"
Couple of days later, I asked Dadu to pull open my toy cabinet. Arjun Bhaiya was passing by and quickly opened it.
Again, I had to pull him up - "Aapka naam Dadu hai?? Is your name Dadu??"
Like this it went on a few times every day till a couple of days ago.
Papa was sitting on the dinner table and asked Mummy to pass his phone. I quickly ran and got it for him. And he said - "Aapka naam Mummy hai?? Is your name Mummy??"
