Keshav the Policeman

I have decided that when I grow up, I will become a Policeman. I will catch all the robbers who steal from people and put them in the jail. I will also catch the cranky kids and put them in the jail. Also, I will catch the Mummys, Papas and Maasis and put them in the jail because they scold kids.

The babies will be put in the baby jail. I shall also have a big jail where I will put the big people.

I will live in the police station only and will not come back home. I will not sleep. I will work and work and work only. All policemen have a special home inside the police station only. It is called Police Center Jail. It is called a jail but it is not a jail. I will have my lunch and dinner there only.

I will write in English.. no sorry.. in Hindi. Actually I will only write my name in Hindi - केशव मोहता. I will write all other things in English only. I will write about how to catch robbers and Mummys and Papas.

So all you robbers, Mummys, Papas, Maasis and cranky kids be careful. I will catch you all when I become a policeman.

My friends

I have a friend at school called Jash. He is my friend. He is my friend because I discuss things with him, very important things. For example, we discuss about our sports day. We discuss about our race in the sports day. We discuss about which girl's hand we have to hold in the race and then run to the finish line. It is very important.

I have another friend in my building. His name is Sannath. He also studies in my school and goes with me in the same mini-van every day. I also discuss important things with Sannath.

Only those people with whom I discuss important things are my friends.

What I want for Christmas

This morning Mummy is taking me to a Christmas Carnival. Actually Alpa Aunty has bought the tickets and my friends Shamika and Tanusha are also coming along. Mummy tells me that there will be a Santa Claus there as well.

I am very excited about meeting Santa Claus. I want to tell him what I want for Christmas.

I want 10 puppets - 10 paper puppets with hand prints. I dont want my hand prints on them. I want other babies to put hand prints on them. And so that I can see the puppets face, the hand prints must be on their bodies. I want one lion, one tiger, one horse, and some other animals too.

I will then do puppet shows for everyone who will like to see this puppet show. I will not do puppet shows for any bad babies. My puppets do not like any bad babies.

In the puppet show there will be Leo the Lion and Simba the Tiger. It will go like this -

Leo Lion to Simba Tiger - "Simba, will you play with me?"

Simba Tiger - "Yes Leo, I will play with you. I am not scared of you so I can play with you."

Leo Lion becomes very happy and sings -

Hip Hip Hurray Happily
Simba Tiger will play with me.

Keshav saves Papa

Today I have made my Papa's day.

As Papa was waking me up at 630 am (I have to go to school so I have to wake up early), he asked me if I was Keshav or Keshi. Keshi, as some of you may know, was the horse demon sent by Kansa, that Krishna उर्फ़ Keshav had killed.

I told him that I was Keshav. He then asked who is Keshi. So I told him that Mummy is Keshi. Papa got scared.. really scared of Keshi. So I told him that I am Keshav and I will protect him from Keshi. I told him to hide behind me and hugged him tightly. Then I put my hand inside Keshi's mouth and make it very hot. All of Keshi's teeth fell out. Finally I lifted up Keshi and threw it far far away.

"Papa, I have thrown away Keshi. Now you dont need to worry."

PS: Fortunately Mummy was sleeping all this time. Else I would be worried as well!!!

Keshav doesnt like to lose

I was playing a game with Papa a while ago. In the game each of us had a picture-card with a word that we have to make using letters. Each of us have a pom-pom which had a magnet at the end. We use that magnet to pick up the letters.

Papa had to make kite and I had to make egg. I told Papa that he has to do it slowly while I would do it quickly. Papa did not listen to me and made his word very very fast. I was trying to stop him from making his word (rather than trying to make my word).

Even Mummy told him to do it slowly, but he did not listen. And in the end, he won. I had only made eg while he had finished the whole kite.

I got very very upset with Papa and threw a big tantrum. And Papa kept laughing at me. I didn't like it at all.

Keshav's toothpaste is a scarecrow

My Mummy recently got me a new toothpaste. It has a very nice taste of mint and gives a lot of lather. My Mummy says that it will drive away all the germs.

I think my toothpaste is a scarecrow!!

Papa, dont give me JUNK FOOD

Papa, dont give me junk food!!!

Last Sunday, Mummy, Papa and I were on our way to meet my friend Manav's little sister Ria. She had been born 2 months ago and she and her Mom had just come back to Mumbai. On our way, we stopped at the market to buy a gift for Ria. As Mummy was finalising the gift and I was trying to persuade them to get me some new toys, Papa picked up a chocolate.

He opened the wrapper and offered me a bite, which I happily took. Then he offered a bite to Mummy. She refused, saying that she was too full and was not ok with having a chocolate.

As he was taking a bite himself I piped in, innocently - "Papa, I am not full and I am OK to have a chocolate."

Mummy and Papa laughed, but I didn't mind as I got another bite of the chocolate. I smiled to myself at how nicely my ploy worked.

Soon we got back into the car and started driving toward's Manav's house. Suddenly I remember what Muskaan Aunty told me in L'ecole Montessori. I turned to Mummy and asked - "Mummy, eating chocolate outside is junk food no?"

She nodded even as I had turned to Papa and said - "PAPA, WHY DID YOU GIVE ME JUNK FOOD???"

The look on Papa's face was too good. I wish I had a camera so I could have clicked it. By this time Mummy was already going - "Hawwwwwww..."

Papa, after he had figured out what he could say - "ठीक है बेटा (Theek hai beta). Next time you ask me for a chocolate and I will tell you!!"

Keshav - "No, but teacher has said that eating chocolate outside is junk food. I can only eat chocolate at home."

Papa - "No Keshav, all chocolate is junk food. You will not get any chocolate, whether at home or outside!!"

Keshav - "हाँ... क्या कह रहे हो.. मुझे कुछ सुन नहीं रहा है (Haan.. kya keh rahe ho.. mujhe kuchh sun nahi raha hai!!)"

I dont want to share my Ma-Baba

Last night, Papa and I were talking of my Ma-Baba coming to my home in Mumbai today. Papa was telling me that I will have to sleep with him and Mummy tonight as Ma-Baba would sleep in my room.

Keshav - "But I want to sleep with Baba. Baba will put me to bed tomorrow."

Papa - "OK. You can sleep with Baba and Dadu in your room."

K - "No, Baba and I will sleep outside. Mansi Didi and Gunjan Didi will not sleep with us. They will sleep in Dadu's room."

P - "Why? You dont want to share your Baba with Mansi Didi and Gunjan Didi?"

K - "NO. I dont want to share my Baba."

P - "But he is their Nana no?"

K - "Umm... OK. I will share my Baba with them on Friday only."

P - "And what about Ma? Will you share your Ma with them?"

K - "OK. I will share my Ma with them on Sunday only."

I am not a fool, Mummy

This morning, as I sat in Papa's lap drinking milk from my bottle, I told Papa - "Papa, when we go to our new house I want a Jaguar."

As expected, Papa told me that he doesn't have so much money to buy me a Jaguar. Infact, he said that the Jaguar may cost more than the house also. Funny he is!!

So then I told him - "Mummy se paise le lo!!" 'Cos my Mummy is rich.

By then Mummy had also come out of the room and was over-hearing us. She immediately held out her hand and said - "Here.. take the money."

However, there was no money in her hand. Papa was trying to find the money that Mummy had supposedly given him for the Jaguar. But he was not able to.

As he looked puzzled, I told him.. "Papa, Mummy has not given you any money. She does like this with me also. Giving me jhooth-mooth (imaginary) money everytime. And she thinks I dont know."

"Mummy - I am not a fool!!! You are so funny!!"

Keshav's favorite God

My favorite God is Shrinathji. I see him every morning on the TV in hari-sharanam. My Papa tells me that Shrinathji is the same as Lord Krishna. I like Lord Krishna also. I do not like Shivji or Hanumanji as much.

I do not like Shivji or Hanumanji as much as they are always in the temple only. On the other hand, Shrinathji is sometimes in the temple and sometimes he is not. When he is not in the temple, he goes to meet his friends. Shrinathji has many friends. His friends are Balaram, Madhu and Subala.

Shivji has only two friends - Kartikeya and Ganesh. Both are also his babies. Hanumanji's friends live very far from his house. So he cannot go to visit them often. However, Shrinathji's friends live very close. Infact, one of them lives in the same house as Shrinathji.

Papa tells me that even Radhaji is a friend of Lord Krishna. I thought about it for a bit and then decided that maybe that is true. I had gone for a play sometime ago. In that play, Krishna and Radha were fighting for the flute. Even I sometimes fight with my best friends.

Mummy please drop me...

Most mornings, it is Anita Masi who drops me to school in Fariyaaz Uncle's car. I don't like it. Not that I have any problem with Anita Masi, it is just that I would like Mummy to drop me to school. The problem is that Mummy is always too busy and has too many things to do every morning. So sometimes she comes to pick me up from school, if i request her.

The other day, I wanted Mummy to drop me to school. Mummy had to go with Papa to the new building to see how the work is happening. I told her to drop me to school, but she kept trying to tell me that I should go with Anita Masi. She kept saying she has so much work and how will she manage!!

So then I had to explain to her -

"Mummy, you come with me in the lift. We will go down. We will sit in Fariyaaz Uncle's car. Fariyaaz Uncle will drive the car to school. You will help me get down and go into the school. And then you can sir in Fariyaaz Uncle's car again and go to the new building. Simple!!"

Needless to say, she came to drop me that day :)

Betty the Bat

Betty the Bat.. or Beta the Bat... or Bat the Betty..

That was such a big confusion. It was just two days to go and Mummy and I could not figure out which would be the right one.

Betty the Bat was one of the night-time creatures that Khushboo Aunty told me at Honeybees. It was all fine in the classroom, but now I had to become one and go to Honeybees. Now how could I be Betty... Betty is a girl no!! And I am a boy!!

That is why Mummy and I were discussing which one was it to be. Finally we left it saying we will consult Dadu and Papa and then take a decision.

By then, I was also struck with some very basic questions. It is one thing to read about night time creatures and another to become one.

I told Mummy - "Mummy, I dont want to become a BAT."

Mummy - "Why Keshav? What is the problem?"

K - "Mummy, I don't want to be a black BAT. It is so dirty. I only want to be a bear!!"

M - "Hmmm.."

K - "Also, I dont want to be hanging upside down in the class. Then I will see everything upside-down."

M - "Don't worry Keshav. Khushboo Aunty will not hang you upside-down"

Finally, it wasn't so bad. Mummy made my BAT dress and I quite enjoyed wearing it. See see...

Mom's and their sense of logic

Early this morning (830 am), Mummy and I had a rather sureal.. ooops.. Papa says its surreal... surreal conversation. Surreal means very very strange!!

I wanted to play with my grape game. In the grape game there is clay of different colours. We use this clay to make many grapes. Then there is some grape crushing machine. We put each grape in a different part of the machine. Then we turn the machine and the grape gets crushed or cut or pulled. I really have a lot of fun making the grapes and then crushing or cutting them.

So this morning, as Papa was setting up the machine for me, Mummy asks me - "Why do you like this game? What is the objective of this game?"

I have her a DUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH look. Objective of the game - What animal is that??? Why do I like this game - Because I like to crush games!!!

Do we need anything more than this!!

Keshav's farmville

Did you know that I have become a farmer? No no.. I am not referring to my farm on farmville that Dadu manages for me. I am talking about being a real farmer!!

You did not?? I am not surprised, considering that even Papa figured it out today only.. duh...

Mummy has been telling me about how plants grow for a long time. In school (not in AVM but in L'ecole Montessori), Muskaan Aunty also taught me a song which goes "एक छोटा बीज ज़मीन के अन्दर था..." and so on. These did give me some idea of farming. Plus, looking at my farm on farmville, I also understood a lot more things about farming.

All this, however, did not translate into anything real till a few days ago. Mummy got home a small plastic glass. She told me that we were going to grow a plant in it. Then we had to wait for a day for Arjun Bhaiya to get some soil for us to put in the glass. Finally we were able to plant a few seeds in the soil.

I have been watering the plant every day for the last few days. 1-2 days ago, I saw one of the seeds turn into a seedling. And then today, I saw the seedling grow a couple of green leaves. Now I am looking forward for the seedling to grow into a plant so that I can harvest it then!!

If only... I had the space for a few trees, some dogs, birds, rabbits, etc. It would have been so much fun to have my own real farmville..

Chhupa Rustam...

The other day, Mummy had come to my school (Arya Vidya Mandir) for a meeting with the teachers. All of us are supposed to act in a play. So the teacher called her to tell her what I was supposed to become.

So Mummy came and met with the teachers. I was in my classroom all the time. I did not see Mummy as the teacher tells us not to look outside the class.

Then Alpa Aunty (Nano-Mika's mummy) told her to look into my class. She said - "I think Keshav is wearing some badge!!"

Mummy got very curious and came to check. And she saw that I was wearing the black Monitor's badge. She was so so surprised that she fell down there itself. All of us kids had to go and pick her up!!

As soon as she got out of school, she called Papa and told him - "Do you know your son is a monitor in class!! I just found out. Now I know why he has all those pin holes in his shirt."

Papa was equally surprised. Fortunately, he was sitting on a chair and hence did not fall down.

That evening, Papa and Mummy asked me so much about when did I become a Monitor, who else is a Monitor, what do i need to do as a Monitor, etc.

I couldnt really understand why my parents were getting so excited about something so small.

After a lot of cajoling, I told them (matter-of-factly) that the teacher put the Monitor badge on my shirt everyday when I reached the school and then took it off when I was leaving school. Besides me, Ayyana was also a Monitor. But I did not tell them what a Monitor is supposed to do. They kept on asking but I did not tell them.

In the evening Dadu came home and Mummy told him that Keshav is a monitor in class. And Dadu said - "छुपा रुस्तम (Chhupa Rustam)!!!"

PS: Mummy did not fall down. I am just pulling her leg.
PPS: I am going to be a bear in the play!!

I will become small then..

Like everynight, Mummy put me to sleep after her dinner. However, unlike other nights, last night Mummy and Papa went out for a movie after putting me to sleep. And they did not tell me about it!!! I even asked Mummy when I saw her wearing outside clothes at night. But she did not say anything.

Then some time after going to bed, I woke up!! I called for Mummy but she did not come. So then I started crying loudly!!! Anita Masi was with me and tried to quieten me. But I continued crying. Then Dadu came, hearing my bawling. I sat with him for a bit and reduced my volume. However, I was still crying. Then I went again to Anita Masi who finally put me to sleep again.

In the morning, I told Mummy and Papa that I was crying last night. I also told them why I cried and what happened.

Then Papa asked me - "Keshav, Why did you cry? You are a big boy now. And you know big boys dont cry!! You should not keep crying like this everytime."

I got really worried - "अगर मैं ऐसे रोऊंगा तो फिर तो मैं छोटा हो जाऊँगा (If I cry like this then I will become small again!!)"

Then Papa told me that he will not let me become smaller. And I breathed a sigh of relief.

Quacky was a duck

Quacky was a duck and a little duck was he, Quacky was a duck and a little duck was he.

Quacky liked to swim so he swam away from home,
Quacky liked to swim so he swam away from home.

One day poor Quacky lost his way back home,

With fuzzy yellow feathers he cried loudly,
With fuzzy yellow feathers he cried loudly.

Quack quack take me back.

Quacky saw his home and he was so happy,
Quacky saw his home and he was so happy.
With fuzzy yellow feathers he shouted loudly,
With fuzzy yellow feathers he shouted loudly.

Quack quack wriggle your back.

Dadu's birthday

Yesterday was my Dadu's happy birthday. Papa told me when I woke up. I immediately ran to Dadu's room. He was still sleeping. So I jumped up on his tummy and shouted - "HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADU!!!"

Once Dadu was awake, I decided to sing Happy Birthday for him. However, since I do things in style, I asked Papa to get all the musical instruments and set up everything. So we had the casio where i put on the happy birthday tune, the guitar (which Papa was playing) and I took the microphone and sang "Happy Birthday" for Dadu for a good 10-15 mins. You dont believe it... see see...

In the evening, Mummy and I went to Nano-Mika's house. They were preparing a cake for Dadu with Alpa Aunty's help. I also helped them in making and decorating the cake.

When we got back home, Papa was already back from office and so was Dadu. Papa told me not to tell Dadu about the cake. However, like I do for most things I am told to not do, I promptly went and told Dadu that we had got a cake for him. Papa was quite upset with me and threatened to not take me for dinner. However, I got Dadu to prevail upon him and assured myself of a seat in the car.

Then Dadu and I cut the cake.. see see...

After this, we all went to Chandni Chowk, a new restaurent in Mega Mall. There I had aloo paratha and had a lot of fun. Dadu showed me a traffic policeman and so many other things. He also got me to ride two-two cars. After that we all came back home and I went off to sleep.

Forgot to tell, I also gave Dadu one shirt for his birthday gift!!

Keshav wants to get married

"Mummy.. I want to get married."

Clang... Plate crashes onto the floor..

"What??? What do you want to do? Tell me again?"

"I want to get MARRIED."

"To whom? And why do you want to get married."

I thought for a moment or two and told her the girl's name. Don't want to mention her name here - it wont be appropriate.

"Hmmmm.. And when do you want to get married?"

"Right now."

"But we don't have clothes for your wedding."

(Trust Mummy to first think of clothes)

"We have.. I will wear pant and shirt and she will wear a pink frock. You can wear a red saree (she had worn one for Chachu's wedding) and Papa and Dadu will wear a kurta."

"And her parents? Are they ready for this?"

"Yes.. Her Mom will wear a blue saree and her Dad will wear a kurta."

"And then??"

"We will decorate the Jazz with flowers. I will sit in it and Papa will drive."

Dadu, who by now had joined the conversation, wanted to join me in the Jazz.

"No.. You come in the Santro."

"But I want to come in the Jazz!!"

"No.. We will decorate the Santro with flowers too. You can come in it."

"Ok."

"Papa.. Let's go.. I want to get married..."

Papa didn't know what hit him.

"Papa... Now.."

Why Mum came back quickly?

Nowadays, Mummy has been rather busy. She is busy with her college and getting the new house done. As a result, she often goes out, leaving me behind at home.

While I dont like her leaving me behind, I make the best of it by going down on my bicycle and riding around the building compound.

Usually Mummy goes out for at least an hour or two. But not today. This morning, she went out and came back rather quickly. She came back well before I could go down to ride my bicycle. Can you believe that?

Keshav - "Booo hoooo... why did you come back so quickly? I had to go and ride my bike!!!"

Mum - "Keshu.. you can still go and ride your bike."

Keshav  - "No.. why did you come back so quickly? Boo hoo.. Go again.. Boo hooo."

Keshav worries about India

Earlier today, Mum and I were sitting around doing some chit-chat. Some issues had been weighing on my mind and I decided to vent them.

Keshav - "What's happening to this country?"

Mum, with an incredulous look on her face - "Which country, Keshav?"

Keshav - "Arre.. this saffron, white and green... this India"

Mum - "Why? What is wrong with it?"

Keshav - "It is not Ok"

Mum - "What is the problem?"

Keshav, busy thinking about the problems and the possible solutions, does not bother to reply.

School is Dangerous!!!

Papa and I were coming back home after my OGC classes. We were stuck in a traffic jam and were chatting.

Keshav - "Papa, you are Keshav and I am Papa"

Papa - "OK. Then I will go to L'ecole Montessori tommorrow"

Keshav - "OK"

Papa - "And I will go to Muskaan Aunty's class. And I will sit with Malcom and Kartikeyan and share my tiffin with them."

Keshav - "Hmmmm..."

Papa - "What?"

Keshav - "Papa, you cannot go to L'ecole Montessori."

Papa - "But why?"

Keshav - "Because it is DANGEROUS!!!"

Jhanvi Shah's birthday party

Last to last Sunday, I went to Jhanvi Shah’s birthday party. Jhanvi Shah is a friend of mine from L’ecole Montessori, the school I go to every morning. Since Mummy had gone to college for studying, it fell upon Papa to take me to the party.

When we reached the party (at 430 pm instead of 4 pm), I realized that we were the first guests. If we had actually arrived on time, we might have been the first (even before Jhanvi and her family).

Jhanvi’s Mom saw me enter and said – “Hello Keshav. How are you? Please come in."

She also thanked Papa for coming.

Papa saw Jhanvi and told me to hop along, wish her and give her the gift. Jhanvi was looking rather pretty in a pink colour dress and had done up her hair very nicely.

There was a tattoo girl sitting in a corner. Jhanvi’s mummy took me to her for a tattoo. I told her to paint a spiderman for me. She did it pretty well and I thanked her for it.

Soon after, Jhanvi went for a tattoo. She also got a spiderman done on one hand. Ha Ha!! She had clearly seen mine and wanted to copy me. Infact, a lot of my friends who came in thereafter also got spiderman tattoos. I was feeling nice for being such a trendsetter.

I looked around a bit and saw a couple of games – the fishing game and the shooting game. I didn't think I had much of a fancy for them (more like I thought I really wouldn't be able to play them). Anyways, I took Papa’s help and played the games (read – I made him hold my hand and play).

Thereafter I promptly went and sat on a chair.

Soon, the music started. They played Aarushi's favourite song - "कैसे बताएं क्यूँ तुझ को चाहें (Kaise batayen Kyun tujh ko chahen)". I immediately told Papa about it. He told me to go and dance. I didn’t.

Jhanvi came and held out her hand and asked me to dance. I decided to act pricey and refused to budge from my seat. She was a bit disappointed and went ahead on her own. A few minutes later her Mom called out saying we should play ring-a-ring-a-roses. This time Jhanvi came and pulled me by the hand to play. I couldn't refuse!!

My friends started arriving thereafter. Aahan came, and then Rhea, Kartikeyan, Malcom and some others (whose names Papa does not know and I didn't bother telling him). Aahan came with his Mummy and Papa. Rhea came with her Mom. Malcom and Kartikeyan also came with their Moms. I went to play with Aahan and took his hand. However, he did not take my hand. So I came back to Papa.

There was one uncle who started talking on the microphone. He told all the babies to come ahead with their Mummys. Since Mummy had not come, I went ahead with Papa. They uncle played some music and made everyone do the hokey pokey dance and the birdie dance. It was somewhat fun. Then the uncle started playing some games. They made us walk round and round and made the Mummy/Papa’s pick up the babies or kiss them or hug them. Everytime he told some people that they were out. I don't know why.

While everyone was playing the game, I saw some lines on the floor and I started walking on them. The people went round and round in the circle but I would just keep following the lines. Papa tried holding my hand and getting me back. But I just kept walking on the lines. Then Papa also started walking with me and tickling me. We had a lot of fun :)

After some time I got hungry. The uncle was still playing some game with the uncles and aunties. I wished he would stop so we could get the cake.

Papa got me some French fries. I asked him for some sauce and he put some on a tissue paper and gave it to me. Rhea also sat next to me and started eating something. Soon the fries got over. I was still very hungry and asked Papa for more. He went to get me some more but found that they were finished. I still wanted them and kept pestering Papa for them. He asked the uncle to make some more and get for me. After some time the uncle got us a plate of fresh fries. It was very nice of him.

Soon after I had told myself that I was not going to get any cake, the music stopped. The cake was brought out and put in the center of the room. I promptly stood next to Jhanvi. I was going to take the knife and cut the cake. But Papa was looking at me with such a stern look that I realized it may not be such a good idea.

The cake was cut. Papa then got me some food and some cake on a plate. As always, I only wanted to eat the cake. However, Papa insisted that every bite of the cake had to be followed by a bit of rice or noodles. We finished the food. As we were to go home, Jhanvi’s Mom held us back for a group photograph. Somehow the camera-man managed to click the picture with all of us kids running and looking in different directions.

Finally we left for home. We collected the return gift and went back home. I got a lot of gifts at the party and the cake was also very nice. All in all it was fun.

Eat your own food

Usually Dadu, Mummy and Papa eat dinner after I have finished my meal. And more often than not, their meal contains some fruits like mango, muskmelon or watermelon, or even some sweets which I like. Since I like all these things, I linger around the dining table on my bicycle and move from chair to chair to get my share of the fruits and / or sweets.

Its not that I have not eaten these already. I would have had the fruits / sweets with my dinner, anyways. This is just bonus. And Dadu being as sweet as he is, never says no. If Mummy is around then sometimes I may not get more than 1-2 pieces (Hitler!!!) as she will say that I have a cold or something.

Anyways, what Mummy says in this case is not important. The context is what is relevant.

This morning, Mummy had made coin pizzas for breakfast. They were yummy. As Anita Masi was feeding me, Dadu came out and sat down on the sofa.

Dadu - "Keshav, kya kha raha hai?"

Keshav - "Pizza"

Dadu - "Even I want to have coin pizza. Can you please give me some?"

Keshav - "Hmmmm.. सबको अपने प्लेट से ही खाना खाना चाहिए. (Everyone should eat their own food only)!!!"

Dadu - "Now you come to eat fruits from my plate at dinner!!!"

OUCH!!!

The Other Keshav

Yesterday morning, I told Papa about the other Keshav.

Papa and I were in my Black Hyundai Santro, going to my school. On the way I saw the other Black Hyundai Santro and mentioned that it was also my car. Papa caught onto that and asked me how come it was my car.

I got caught in my own words and had to tell him the story of the other Keshav. Here is how the conversation went -

Keshav - "This is not my car. It is the car of the Other Keshav."

Papa - "Other Keshav? Who is this Other Keshav?"

K - "He is another Keshav. You dont know him."

P - "Where does this Other Keshav live?"

K - "He lives in the other house."

P - "And how old is he?"

K - "He is 4 years old."

P - "Which school does he go to?"

K - "He goes to Jamnaabai Narsee school."

P - "And does he go to OGC in the evening? (OGC is my activity class.)"

K - "No."

P - "So what does he do in the evening"

K - "He rides a bicycle. A blue coloured bicycle."

P - "And who are his Mummy-Papa?"

K - "I dont know them."

P - "And does he have a Dadu?"

K - "No, the Other Keshav does not have a Dadu. Only this Keshav has a Dadu."

P - "Then?"

K - "He has a Masi."

The conversation ended here as we started talking of other things. I thought I had pulled it off fine and that Papa bought my story. However, I undid my own good work in the evening when Papa was telling this to Mummy and Dadu.

Dadu asked me where the Other Keshav lived. And I told him that he lived in Kolkata. He also asked me old the Other Keshav was. And I told him that he was 3 years old.

"Ouuuucccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhh."

Papa looked at me incredously.

Aware that my story was blown, I suppressed a laugh and quickly changed tack - "Papa.. I want to have the musk-melon!!!"
