The giraffe, the pelle and Me

Once upon a time there was a boy called Billy. Close to his house there was a wooden house called Grubber. This used to be a chocolate shop but now it was just a dusty place. One day, as Billy was passing by, he saw that the whole house had changed. It had become the Ladderless Window Cleaning Company.

There he met a giraffe, a monkey and a pelican. The giraffe said that he was the ladder. The pelican said that it carried water in its beak like a bucket. And the monkey said that he is the cleaner. All three were very hungry. They wanted some work so they could earn some money to buy food.

Just then a Duke's chauffeur came by. He had a letter for them saying that the Duke wanted them to clean 600 windows of his castle.

The four of them (including Billy, who became the business manager) came to the castle and explained to the Duke how they will clean. The Duke gave them the job and they started cleaning.

The monkey climbed up the giraffe's neck and stood on his head. The  pelican filled its beak with a lot of water, and sat on a nearby window-sill. The monkey put his hand into the pelican's beak, took some water and started cleaning the windows. One by one, they finished cleaning each of the four floors.

While they were cleaning one of the windows on the 2nd floor, the pelican saw a thief. The thief was searching for the Duchess' jewels. The pelican told everyone about the thief and flew inside the window. It threw out all the water from its beak and caught the thief with it. The thief fired his gun inside the pelican's mouth and made a small hole in it.

In the meanwhile, the Duchess came and saw that her jewels were missing. Billy quickly called the police. The police asked the pelican to open its mouth. They grabbed the thief, took all the jewels from his pockets. The Duchess took the jewels and quickly hid them in the drawers.

The Duke was very happy with them and gave them a treat. The giraffe got the tinkle-tinkle tree pink and purple flowers to eat, the monkey got his walnuts, the pelican got the salmon fish. Billy had only a small wish - I have an old Grubber close to my house which was a sweet shop earlier. Now it's very dirty and dusty. I would like it to be a sweet shop once again.

The Duke agreed and got different chocolates from other places and then the chocolate shop started being built. Once it was built, Billy opened his chocolate shop with so many  sweets. The monkey got a chocolate which gave out fire. The giraffe got tinkle-tinkle tree chocolates. The pelican got a salmon chocolate.

The End.

Can a crocodile come into the swimming pool?

This morning I had gone for a swim with Papa in the pool in our building. As we were resting in between laps, I asked Papa - "Papa, can a crocodile come into this swimming pool?"

Since I as on the other side of the pool to Papa, he asked me to come to him. So I swam the lap back to him and repeated the question. He didn't answer my question, but instead asked me what I thought.

I told him that I don't think that a crocodile could come into our pool. And then we went on to discuss the same.

I told Papa that the crocodile would first have to come out of the forest, come to the city and then come to our building. But then the security guards would stop it at the gate and not allow it to come inside. Even if somehow it came inside the building, it would not be able to come up the lift or the stairs from the P1 level to the Lobby level where the pool is.

Then I thought a bit more and said that maybe the crocodile could come up using the ramp and then come into the pool and eat us. And I got a bit worried.

But then Papa told me that if the crocodile was hungry, it would meet many humans on the way and could have eaten any of them. And I felt relieved!!!!

Ved and I being mean...

Ved Patel is my best buddy. We both go to school together, go to honeybees together and often play together. And often I go to his house on Friday night where his Mummy makes some great food for me.

Ved also has a younger brother called Ishaan. Whenever we are playing something, he comes and tries to play with us. But then he is too small and doesn't understand how to play. So he keeps snatching whatever we are playing with and disturbs us.

Today afternoon, Ved had come over to my house to play. And he came alone. When I asked him if Ishaan had come or was coming, he said - "No. Ishaan is not coming. Lucky, no!!!"
