Papa, dont give me JUNK FOOD

Papa, dont give me junk food!!!

Last Sunday, Mummy, Papa and I were on our way to meet my friend Manav's little sister Ria. She had been born 2 months ago and she and her Mom had just come back to Mumbai. On our way, we stopped at the market to buy a gift for Ria. As Mummy was finalising the gift and I was trying to persuade them to get me some new toys, Papa picked up a chocolate.

He opened the wrapper and offered me a bite, which I happily took. Then he offered a bite to Mummy. She refused, saying that she was too full and was not ok with having a chocolate.

As he was taking a bite himself I piped in, innocently - "Papa, I am not full and I am OK to have a chocolate."

Mummy and Papa laughed, but I didn't mind as I got another bite of the chocolate. I smiled to myself at how nicely my ploy worked.

Soon we got back into the car and started driving toward's Manav's house. Suddenly I remember what Muskaan Aunty told me in L'ecole Montessori. I turned to Mummy and asked - "Mummy, eating chocolate outside is junk food no?"

She nodded even as I had turned to Papa and said - "PAPA, WHY DID YOU GIVE ME JUNK FOOD???"

The look on Papa's face was too good. I wish I had a camera so I could have clicked it. By this time Mummy was already going - "Hawwwwwww..."

Papa, after he had figured out what he could say - "ठीक है बेटा (Theek hai beta). Next time you ask me for a chocolate and I will tell you!!"

Keshav - "No, but teacher has said that eating chocolate outside is junk food. I can only eat chocolate at home."

Papa - "No Keshav, all chocolate is junk food. You will not get any chocolate, whether at home or outside!!"

Keshav - "हाँ... क्या कह रहे हो.. मुझे कुछ सुन नहीं रहा है (Haan.. kya keh rahe ho.. mujhe kuchh sun nahi raha hai!!)"

I dont want to share my Ma-Baba

Last night, Papa and I were talking of my Ma-Baba coming to my home in Mumbai today. Papa was telling me that I will have to sleep with him and Mummy tonight as Ma-Baba would sleep in my room.

Keshav - "But I want to sleep with Baba. Baba will put me to bed tomorrow."

Papa - "OK. You can sleep with Baba and Dadu in your room."

K - "No, Baba and I will sleep outside. Mansi Didi and Gunjan Didi will not sleep with us. They will sleep in Dadu's room."

P - "Why? You dont want to share your Baba with Mansi Didi and Gunjan Didi?"

K - "NO. I dont want to share my Baba."

P - "But he is their Nana no?"

K - "Umm... OK. I will share my Baba with them on Friday only."

P - "And what about Ma? Will you share your Ma with them?"

K - "OK. I will share my Ma with them on Sunday only."

I am not a fool, Mummy

This morning, as I sat in Papa's lap drinking milk from my bottle, I told Papa - "Papa, when we go to our new house I want a Jaguar."

As expected, Papa told me that he doesn't have so much money to buy me a Jaguar. Infact, he said that the Jaguar may cost more than the house also. Funny he is!!

So then I told him - "Mummy se paise le lo!!" 'Cos my Mummy is rich.

By then Mummy had also come out of the room and was over-hearing us. She immediately held out her hand and said - "Here.. take the money."

However, there was no money in her hand. Papa was trying to find the money that Mummy had supposedly given him for the Jaguar. But he was not able to.

As he looked puzzled, I told him.. "Papa, Mummy has not given you any money. She does like this with me also. Giving me jhooth-mooth (imaginary) money everytime. And she thinks I dont know."

"Mummy - I am not a fool!!! You are so funny!!"

Keshav's favorite God

My favorite God is Shrinathji. I see him every morning on the TV in hari-sharanam. My Papa tells me that Shrinathji is the same as Lord Krishna. I like Lord Krishna also. I do not like Shivji or Hanumanji as much.

I do not like Shivji or Hanumanji as much as they are always in the temple only. On the other hand, Shrinathji is sometimes in the temple and sometimes he is not. When he is not in the temple, he goes to meet his friends. Shrinathji has many friends. His friends are Balaram, Madhu and Subala.

Shivji has only two friends - Kartikeya and Ganesh. Both are also his babies. Hanumanji's friends live very far from his house. So he cannot go to visit them often. However, Shrinathji's friends live very close. Infact, one of them lives in the same house as Shrinathji.

Papa tells me that even Radhaji is a friend of Lord Krishna. I thought about it for a bit and then decided that maybe that is true. I had gone for a play sometime ago. In that play, Krishna and Radha were fighting for the flute. Even I sometimes fight with my best friends.

Mummy please drop me...

Most mornings, it is Anita Masi who drops me to school in Fariyaaz Uncle's car. I don't like it. Not that I have any problem with Anita Masi, it is just that I would like Mummy to drop me to school. The problem is that Mummy is always too busy and has too many things to do every morning. So sometimes she comes to pick me up from school, if i request her.

The other day, I wanted Mummy to drop me to school. Mummy had to go with Papa to the new building to see how the work is happening. I told her to drop me to school, but she kept trying to tell me that I should go with Anita Masi. She kept saying she has so much work and how will she manage!!

So then I had to explain to her -

"Mummy, you come with me in the lift. We will go down. We will sit in Fariyaaz Uncle's car. Fariyaaz Uncle will drive the car to school. You will help me get down and go into the school. And then you can sir in Fariyaaz Uncle's car again and go to the new building. Simple!!"

Needless to say, she came to drop me that day :)
