Funny Papa

Yesterday, while they were having dinner, Papa was telling Mummy something about my cough and fever. Mummy was not listening to him and not agreeing. I was sitting next to them and listening in.

Finally, when Papa could not make Mummy agree, he turned to me:

Papa: Keshav, your Mummy does not understand Hindi or English. Maybe we should speak in Chinese.

Keshav: Papa, your are so funny.. Chinese to khaate hai na!!!

When I become big..

When I was born, I was 100 small. Then I became 1 big, then 2 big and then 3 big. Now, I am almost 4 years old. In one month I will be 4 years old. Then I will be 5 years old, then 6 years, then 7 years, 8 years, 9 and then 10 years, then I will become so so big. I will not grow after 10 years because I will already be so big that the ceiling will break.

Then my head will come out on the 5th floor and I will be on the 4th floor (right now we stay on the 4th floor). Then I will eat food on the 5th floor and when I move, more ceiling will break.

Funny no..

Sleeping in the Van - Secret's out

Yesterday was a boy's only day as Mummy has gone to Delhi for a wedding. Papa had promised me that he would come back early, and he did. I had just woken up when he rang the bell and entered the house. He had promised to take me out for dinner.

Since there was some time for dinner, I went down with Masi to the play-area. Soon thereafter, Papa also came down. I wanted to get onto the swing and got Papa to push me while I enjoyed the ride. What made it better (or so I thought) was that my friend Roan was sitting on the swing next to me. Roan and I, along with Ved and others go together to school in our van and come back together too.

As soon as Papa found out Roan's name, he started talking to him (he had only heard Roan's name before this). He asked Roan whether we sat together in the van. He started asking Roan about what I did in the van and so on. I held on tightly to my swing as I hoped against hope that he would not spill my secrets.

However, what does a 3 year-old know about what to say and what to hold back. If only he had been a bit ahead in the years like me.

So like a 3-year old, half-brained fellow, Roan told Papa - "केशव तो van में सोता है." (Keshav sleeps in the van).

And Papa's questions started - "Do you sleep in the van? Really? Or just acting? While travelling both ways? Or just in the morning? In the afternoon, on the way back? How do you wake up? Who wakes you up when you get home? and on and on and on..."

Roan did the honours and answered some of these for him as well - "Uncle, Keshav sleeps when we are coming back from school. And then Ved checks to see if he is sleeping (and Roan shows how Ved pulls up my eyelid to check if I am sleeping or not!!). And then Ved wakes up Keshav like this!!"

I held my head and thought to myself.. wait till I meet Roan's Mummy or Papa. I will tell them so many stories about him, even if I have to make up some of them. And then I prepared myself for Papa's next round of questions!!!
