Rasoi or Rajai

Like everyday, its sleeping time for me. Upon my insistence, both Mummy and Papa have to put me to bed. Half the time they will be fighting about whose baby I am and who will hug me while I go to sleep. But its actually a lot of fun to see them fighting over me.

And then, Mummy will be obsessed with the fact that I might catch a cold and hence insist on covering me with a blanket even in the peak summer months.

Like everyday, even today she wanted to cover me. However, I refused and hence she decided to cover herself (at least till i was asleep and wouldnt protest being covered once again).

And then, i decided to display my superior knowledge of hindi.

"Actually, I want a रसोई (rasoi) instead of this thin blanket."

Both, in unison - "रसोई!!!"

"Yes, that thick blanket - रसोई."

Both rolling with laughter while I am wondering what's wrong with them.

"You mean रजाई and not रसोई... hahahaha....."

Unwilling to acknowledge that I may have got it wrong - "No... it is रसोई only!!"

More laughter... hahaha

Bad words

This morning, Mummy and Papa came over together to wake me up. As usual, some small talk happened.

Papa asked me who I was playing with the previous evening. I told him and also told him that I dont like to play with the big kids.

Curious as a cat, Papa piped - "Why?"

"Because they use bad words."

"What kind of words?"

"They use 'f' word and 'b' word."

Silence.....

Front roll, back roll, gol gol..

In my new school (not so new anymore as it's almost been a year now), I have Judo as a weekly subject. Since I joined the school only in Class 2 (and that too after the session had started), I did not have the opportunity to learn the sport as well as many of my friends have had, who have been learning this sport for at least a year more than me.

Everytime my parents would ask me about Judo, I kept telling them that I was improving. If my Judo teacher hadn't given me an average grade in the report card, my parents would have probably never found out the truth.

The truth however is what happened yesterday. We are doing a front roll competition in class where we had to continuously do as many front rolls as we could. I managed to do THREE front rolls continuously. However, the best in the class did only twenty eight front rolls and no one else was anywhere close to three.

I am only glad that sir didnt ask for a back roll competition (and I hope he isn't reading this). I would probably be stuck with my feet in mid-air and then fallen back flat.
